about me

avid explorer.

lover of; food, people, places, all forms of art & architecture.

hey!

The name is Alessandra.

Originally a born and bred Sydney-sider from Aus. Now, an unofficial New Yorker. I’ve called The Big Apple ‘home‘ for over two years now and lets be real, the adventure is just getting started. I have two main passions that have remained a constant throughout my 30 years on this earth. One is food. The second is travel.

food. Well this is easy, coming from an Italian heritage my love of food runs through my blood. It is a continual challenge that I’m absolutely obsessed with, to experience a place or culture through their food. In this blog, I’ll be sharing secret gems, local favs and the all-time classics from the places I have traveled.

travel. This isn’t as clear cut. All I can say is since I can remember, my one main motivation in life (other then food) is the love for travel. Planning, exploring, experiencing. I love all of it! As you will soon notice, there is one place in the world (clearly bias) that I can continue to travel to and not get sick of it. Yes, it is Italy. There will probably be one too many posts on the individual Italian cities and their own unique flares, all in which you will love! I also promise to include all secrets of the other cities I have traveled, and of course the one in which I live, New York.

I often get asked (or insist) for recommendations on places I have been. This blog is, in essence, a compilation of all the photos and long lists I have saved in archived emails, notes and logged in the back of my brain that I will finally write down and share. Straight up, there will most likely not be recommendations to the fancy hotels and Michelin star restaurants. There will be personal recommendations on the places I have seen, explored and loved. Recommended joints that serve incredible food, best places to grab a drink and the must see’s.

What I hope to share with you is all the goodness in travel. What I taste, see and experience.

“Great food and even greater company. I’m content.”
